Araghchi meets MBS, says Iran, Saudi can bring security to the region

Iran and Saudi Arabia can "help bring security and stability to the region," Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted on X, following high-level meetings with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) on Wednesday.

"Together, Iran and Saudi Arabia can help bring security and stability to the region," Araghchi stated.

Araghchi said that he held "important discussions on critical issues" with MBS.

He underlined that bringing stablity to the region would require " an enhance level of political will" from involved parties. Araghchi also expressed his satistfaction with his visit to Riyadh, saying "I am pleased to take the first steps on a long journey" with Saudi officials.

This visit comes amid an expected Israeli aggression on Iran after Iran retaliated against multiple Israeli crimes committed in the region, including the assassination of Hamas' leader and top negotiator, martyr Ismail Haniyeh. To add to the gravity of the aggression, Haniyeh was assassinated in his residence in Tehran, just after he attended the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Araghchi said that the "Israeli regime is dragging the whole region into catastrophe," as the occupation has reportedly threatened strikes targeting vital Iranian sectors, including the country's nuclear program and its energy sector.

"Insight, wisdom, courage and cooperation are what the region needs to overcome this challenging time," he added.

"I hope that these consultations can lead to better conditions for Palestine and Lebanon and establish peace in the region," Araghchi told Iranian state television upon his arrival in Riyadh, earlier on Wednesday.

It is worth noting that the Israeli regime has expanded its aggressive actions in the region, launching an air and ground onslought on Lebanon.

Read for any scenario

Earlier on Tuesday, Araghchi stated that the Iranian armed forces are "fully preparedfor any scenario."

During a press briefing on the sidelines of "Al-Aqsa Storm; The Beginning of Nasrallah" conference, Araghchi mentioned his recent diplomatic trips to New York, Beirut, and Damascus.

He emphasized that Iran is committed to supporting the Resistance and will not waver from this fundamental policy. While he acknowledged that Iran does not aim to escalate tensions, he made it clear that the country is not afraid of war.

Araghchi further asserted, “We are ready for any scenario, the armed forces are fully prepared,” adding that the aim is to "stop war and to reach an acceptable ceasefire."
